Last month, I applied to the Codex for OSS program, as I help maintain goose (an AI agent that’s part of the Agentic AI Foundation).

It’s been a few weeks and I haven’t received a response. I’m curious what schedule the applications are reviewed on… and if I get rejected, will OpenAI email me so I at least know about it?

Totally get the curiosity here, waiting without any signal is the worst.
From what’s been shared publicly, applications for Codex for OSS are reviewed on a rolling basis, and they email people who are selected. That does unfortunately imply that not everyone will get a response if they aren’t picked.
A couple of practical takeaways:
- Timing can vary a lot depending on volume, so a few weeks of silence isn’t unusual.
- If you are selected, you should hear via email.
