What are your hopes for the GPT Store?

No, not in any way that matters to users or builders of GPTs.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers do with their $20 / month, just as they pay for the tokens used when interacting with the base GPT-4 model in ChatGPT.

Letā€™s have a look at Spotifyā€¦

ā€œArtists on Spotify earn money through streaming royalties, where they receive a fraction of a cent per stream, largely dependent on the listenerā€™s subscription type and geographic location. Approximately 70% of Spotifyā€™s revenue is paid out to rights holders, including artists, labels, and distributors. The exact earnings for artists vary based on their distribution agreements, the popularity of their tracks, and user engagement. While premium streams generate higher royalties than free streams, artists often need a significant number of streams to see substantial income, and the division of these royalties among all rights holders can vary widely.ā€

I would not be surprised if this might be a similar payment model for GPTs as I canā€™t see people paying $20 a month and extra for access to a GPT, and so far OpenAI has made mostly logical moves, hoping this will be a next one.

As for standing out, I think the following points will make a big difference

  1. Obviously the quality of the prompt and itā€™s output
  2. The personality of the GPT and itā€™s interaction with the user
  3. This is a big one, what API and Javascript access your GPT has.
  4. What private knowledge it is working with (which could be accessed through a function/API)
  5. What info can it capture for the GPT owner, aka lead generation
  6. Can their user bring their own data to the party for more personal output.
  7. Output; can the GPT output be sent to me by email or directly to my CMS?

By the way, I got all the above working with my GPTs and OpenAI Assistants!

This will set you apart!

Wondering what the interplay will be, between the (supposed, leaked) Q-Star thing and Actions. Everyone is talking about ChatGPT users, but Iā€™m excited to serve up agency to GPT4 itself.

If anything, unlike other social media platforms, I would just like clear communication and transparency. That would mean the most to me. So we can know how to create magic around it, strategize and build and then we can be more creative. I think at this point i have been learning so much and enjoying that. Iā€™m not worried about the money . When thereā€™s no clear , communication tho the thing is just always speculation and I think communication goes along way. Thereā€™s a good old saying in the Bible, the truth set you freeā€¦

I really hope they have user ratings & reviews. Copying is a big problem and so far the only known metric is initiated conversations, which can be easily manipulated and encourages bot farms.

The facts that thereā€™s no facts is very worrying with it being < a week away.

As always, the lack of communication has encouraged a lot of gross tactics.

No.

The copyright shield only applies to content generated by OpenAI base models.

If you directly and purposefully infringe on someoneā€™s copyrights there is no protection for you.

Donā€™t do that.

I would think that one OpenAiā€™s goals with the GPT Store is to drive more people to sign up for Plus.

My hope is that I end up creating a flappy bird type app that makes me extremely rich

Careful what you wish for!

What analytics will be ideal to be present for analysis as currently OpenAI only provides conversation count and not granular analytics

Do we know already if we will also have API access to our GPTs? I really need this. Thanks.

As far as Iā€™ve heard, Custom GPTs will be ChatGPT Plus only - to likely drive even more ChatGPT Pro membership (the GPT store gives ChatGPT Plus even more value for most use casesā€¦)

Have you looked at recreating with Assistants API?

I think the business model may involve users purchasing credits for using GPTs, with the revenue from each GPT being split between the creator and OpenAI.

I would like to run my AI b2b consultancy from an AI, and I would like to have my customers be able to access it with login credentials that would give them access to more information than the general public, perhaps even to their own projects in progress, provide any requested outstanding information, Receive questions for me and status reports, etc. Iā€™d like the AI to manage communication with the customer and manage the project and deliver the final results. ka-ching!

:point_right: Really easy payment gateways, Apple Pay, credit card like for shopping online - the best and fluid experience. Most people will purchase for fun and personal. Hopefully some GPTs will also get professional attention and due to that the GPT Marketplace can also offer invoicing in proper format.
:point_right: I want to use my own logos, I do branding and marketing. Right now I canā€™t even upload a logo for GPT, it is broken? It only works when DallE cretes the image. What is with that?
:point_right: Very smart branding and corporation author rights protection with some expections for the retailers, localisation eg.
:point_right: Integration to the websites without third party plugins and no duplicates, just embbeding the original GPT from the store!

Edit: :point_right: and now when it is live, I miss some more statistics, not just usage nr.

Thatā€™s it for nowā€¦
Canā€™t wait for the launch! Hopes are so high. I really hope the first impression will not be ā€“ mehā€¦

I disagree. I know it is called a store, but from what I have seen, it seems like all the GPTs are going to be free. My guess is we are going to find out today, as it is the middle of the week so it would be prime time to release the store.

Not as far as I know. My GPTs can reach out to APIā€™s but an API can not reach out to my GPT. For that you need assistants which I have created for myself and setup for others as well and APIs can reach out to those OpenAI Assistants.

Got a sweet setup where Outlook sends its emails to my OpenAI assistants to be triage. The results are saved in SQL/SharePoint/Dataverse. Responses can be created and saved in draft.

My hope is simply that the store will stay up and become a constant when working with ChatGPT.
