My weekly Codex allowance dropped from 100% to 0% in about 8 hours using Sol Ultra at normal speed. The session used only around 8M total tokens, including roughly 1M output tokens. That does not seem consistent with normal usage, even for Ultra. Please clarify whether limits were changed or if there is a metering issue
PS I am on a 5x pro plan, I noticed it’s been unusal for the past few days
I noticed the same thing exactly happening again since sol 5.6 release.
There was a billing issue they admitted back last month, but i contacted support and they said there are no billing issues. i gave up with the unusable limits for open ai subscription and migrated to anthropic, way better limits. i use the 5x plan on claude code, and non stop usage with 2 paralel opus 4.8 xhigh never hits the limits (like 12-14 hours daily).
I feel like all the resets and 5h limit removal is trying to hide a stealth limit nerf, then when 5h limits come back, bam, it will be worse.
i dont see many complaining, most likely the casual users rarely hit the limits anyway so they probably dont realise this.
Of course if there is any clarification from OpenAI i would be happy to admit i am wrong, but it has been 3 weeks since i asked around support and posted multiple times in this forum. alot of people notice this, and there are tons of github issues in the codex repo, but no statement at all from OpenAI except this is working as intended.
I initially tried out Codex hearing it has more generous limits and did a review with a plan that i would migrate my company devs to use codex instead, but yeah, these limits are unusable for any kind of serious work. the 5x plan 100$ in codex right now feels worse than even claude 1x 20$ sub in usage limits.
Yes I really think they need to be more transparent about usage/cost/effort
same thing here but i am not using the new models at all and 3 days a week went poof - there is a uasge bug plus i had three resets and one disappeared.
Yes my weekly limits are more like daily or even hourly. I had to use a couple of resets as it was way too quick and I needed to finish some code. I hope they realise and give back some of the resets used.
Same Problem it’s renewed in july21st and it’s finisied today 3 days its not usual. i used extra high not ultra.
