Web push notifications donot run

Scheduled Tasks: email notifications work, but web push notifications do not

I tested ChatGPT Scheduled Tasks on Windows 11 with Chrome.

  • Scheduled tasks execute normally.
  • Email notifications are delivered successfully.
  • ChatGPT task notifications are set to “Push notifications + Email”.
  • Notifications for chatgpt_com are allowed in Chrome.
  • Windows notifications for Google Chrome are enabled.
  • “Do not disturb” is disabled.
  • Other Chrome web push notifications are working normally.
  • Email arrival notifications also appear correctly in the Windows notification center.
  • However, ChatGPT Scheduled Task web push notifications never appear as a Windows banner or in the notification center.

Multiple one-minute test tasks were performed, including tests with the ChatGPT tab closed. Email notifications arrived, but ChatGPT web push notifications did not.

This suggests that the issue may specifically affect the ChatGPT Scheduled Tasks → Web Push notification path, rather than Chrome or Windows notifications in general.

Environment: Windows 11, Chrome, ChatGPT web app.
Date tested: September 30, 2026.

Hi there, thanks for reporting this.

I tried the same steps on Windows but couldn't reproduce the issue; it works well for me.

I'd recommend resetting the notification permission for chatgpt.com in Chrome, reloading ChatGPT, and allowing notifications again when prompted. Also, try turning Push off and back on in ChatGPT's notification settings, then create a new test reminder.

In the meantime, let's see if anyone else in the community is experiencing the same behavior.
