Voice-to-text function missing

Hi OpenAI team,

I’d like to share feedback about the recent changes to the ChatGPT mobile app – specifically the removal of the classic voice-to-text dictation feature.

Before, I could tap the microphone icon, dictate a message, pause when I needed to, review the text, make corrections, and then send it when I was ready. It was simple and perfect for writing notes, longer messages, or precise input when I couldn’t type.

Now, the new “Voice” mode automatically starts speaking back while I’m still thinking or dictating. It doesn’t let me pause or see what I’m saying in text form. It jumps in too early, and I’ve completely lost the ability to use ChatGPT for structured voice-to-text input.

Please consider bringing back the old dictation as an optional mode for users who prefer to see and edit the transcribed text before sending. I understand the new voice model is powerful and impressive, but it’s not suited for all use cases — especially when I want control and clarity.

Thanks for listening. I really hope this function can return, even if just as a secondary option next to the current voice chat.
