I’m writing to express my growing frustration with the recent update to the ChatGPT mobile app that defaults to voice-first input. This change has severely impacted my user experience.
I’ve encountered multiple instances where I spend a good while dictating a message, only for it to be completely lost—sometimes more than once in a single session. This is especially painful when working with spotty or unstable internet connections, which seems to interfere with the new voice interface even more.
The lack of a clear way to disable or switch back to text-first input adds to the frustration. This used to be a seamless, dependable tool for me, but now I’m seriously considering alternative platforms because the app has become unreliable for real-world, daily use.
Please consider restoring the ability to use text input as the default or giving users a setting to choose their preferred input method. It would make a huge difference to those of us who depend on ChatGPT for professional and time-sensitive tasks.
