Hi there,
My friend has been using ChatGPT-3.5 on a Windows 10 PC with the voice feature without any issues. However, since a recent update, the voice functionality has stopped working. Here are some details:
- Device: Windows 10 PC
- Browser: Google Chrome (upgraded)
*Steps Taken:
- Checked microphone permissions via Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
- Reinstalled the app.
- Cleared browser cache.
- Reloaded the web page.
Additionally, my friend experienced something odd: while chatting, he suddenly received a warning message saying, “You can’t continue to use ChatGPT-4o anymore,” and the app was able to read aloud that message. However, he wasn’t using ChatGPT-4o, only ChatGPT-3.5. Before that message appeared, he saw the message “You can use ChatGPT-4o” several times but ignored it because he was enjoying ChatGPT-3.5 enough.
Despite these steps and the odd behavior, the voice feature remains unavailable. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Are there any additional steps we can take to resolve it? My friend is also considering upgrading to ChatGPT-4o but is concerned about potential data loss. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
