I am on the ChatGPT Pro plan, paying close to $300 a month. In the past 5 months, it has almost been impossible to get a consistent overview or understanding of how the usage and billing works.
(BTW: Still not a single response or resolution on any of the 3 tickets I opened with support. And this is over 4 months).
Right now, I’m facing an issue where My usage was supposed to reset today, September 22nd, at 7 p.m. I checked on this yesterday because I had around 15% of my usage left and I was planning all of my tasks in order to use my usage around this time.
The entire day, I was looking at the time and I was looking at my usage to ensure that I was able to complete the tasks I had to finish based on my usage.
However, I just check now, and my usage reset has been moved a day further to tomorrow, September 23rd, and around 7.20 p.m and I currently have 4% left.
How on earth does this make sense?
Update 3 hours since I posted this:
So, since I reached my usage limit 3h ago, I decided to buy $100 worth of credits, giving me a total of 2,500 credits.
This was specifically suggested by ChatGPT, which explained that it would be a good idea to get these credits since I could use them over the next months whenever I hit my usage limit, usually roughly 1–2 days before my reset.
Now, since I bought the credits, OpenAI has also released the new GPT-6 Sol and Luna models, which I’ve been using since purchasing them.
I’ve been working with 3 GPT-6 Sol managers that are supposed to be 10x cheaper than Astra, and I’ve been using GPT-6 Luna subagents for implementation.
However, now, just 3 hours later, I have 1,000 credits left, meaning I somehow burned through 1,500 credits on just a couple of tasks.
How on earth is this possible?
I spend around $300/month for the Pro plan, which gives me 4 weeks of usage. Since purchasing these credits, I’ve been using models that are supposedly 10x cheaper than Astra, yet I’ve now burned through 60% of my credits in less than 3 hours?
It just doesn’t make sense…
