Urgent: Allow Email Change or Account Migration Without Losing Data

I pay for ChatGPT Pro, but my account is tied to a corporate email that could disappear when my company changes servers/domains. This would happen shortly and that would mean losing:

  • All my chat history and prompts.

  • My custom GPTs and settings (which took me months to develop).

  • My Pro Plan subscription and payment history.

Current “solutions” (new account, Teams migration) don’t work: they require domain verification, invitations, or still cause data loss (custom instructions, chats, settings, prompts…).

Request:

  • Allow secure email change in settings without losing data.

  • OR provide a “Transfer Account Data” tool that moves everything — chats, GPTs, instructions, subscription — to another account.

  • OR implement full import/export with fidelity.

Many users start with a corporate email and later need to switch to personal for continuity. This is essential to protect loyal paying users and prevent unnecessary churn.

@OpenAI_Support is this on the roadmap and if so, when can we expect to see this rolled out?

This is an important issue for developers. You have to be kidding if you think this is off-topic. This is a feature of particular interest to developers who are putting a lot of time and work into ChatGPT and cannot even change their email addresses or transfer the data in an account to a second account, if necessary.
