Add a way to transfer the context of conversations to another conversation or create a new one with the same context so we can continue stories and such.
As I wrote in my message
It’s very tedious to have to go the mobile app and perform a search there and then update the chat so that you can easily find it in the desktop browser version.
Exporting all the chats you’ve had and do the search that way, just isn’t feasible.
You cannot export chats from a Teams workspace.
It’s a clunky flow even for personal workspaces, an email is sent containing a zip file which must be downloaded.
I can’t get that browser extension to work, regardless if it’s in Edge or Chrome.
Hello, I hope everything is fine. When ChatGPT gives steps to follow for a tutorial for exemple, is it possible to add a checkbox system that when checked changes the visual to the part so visually it shows that this step has been already done ? It is only about visuals so the AI doesn’t need to know that the step is finished.
Hello, dear community of Open AI
maybe for power users of chatgpt (3.5 and 4) could be better to add a search feature to finds arguments written or by you or by chatgpt and find that exact chat
Jumpy scrolling is absolutely horrendous on ChatGPT, no point in writing the words as soon as they are generated when it’s impossible to read them.
Smoothen the scroll jumps and don’t let the scroll go beyond the first lines of the response on the faster response models.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with the ChatGPT web page itself, but rather with a react component they use to handle the scrolling.
It was discussed a bit last year here:
I’m not too interested in diving back into it now myself, but the documentation for the component is here:
I think part of the issue is it wasn’t designed with the amount of text being added in a stream like ChatGPT does.
You might be able to fiddle with the defaults with a userscript to smooth out the scrolling more.
Off the top of my head I think you’d want to look into adjusting the,
checkInterval
debounce
scroller
arguments.
Maybe decreasing the checkInterval
, increasing the debounce
, and drafting a scroller
function that limits the scroll to a fraction of the way to the actual bottom.
If I have some time tonight I might try to hack on it a bit.
Give chat gpt the ability to browse the internet
It can browse the internet with a ChatGPT+ subscription.
Under “Settings-> Delete all chats” the ability to delete Archived chats should be optional, such as a checkbox–unchecked by default–with the option “Include Archived chats?”
Additionally or separately, a button could be placed at the bottom of the sidebar (away from the “New Chat” button at the top), “Delete current chats” affecting only the chats in the sidebar and not he archived ones.
@paul.white.pl @Ti9DEV @gabiota1998 @kanintesova @Clint @nightcoder.programmi @kamscruise @lamichhanepratik @Liebed @Olivine I don’t think we’ll get ‘Pin Chat’ feature from OpenAI any time soon. But you can try an
@charlescoult.boeing @TVIL @igbenic @elmstedt The auto-scroll ‘feature’ makes it very hard to read the response. Absolute UX disaster. There is an extension to fix that:
I already gave instructions on have instructions on disabling the scroll-to-bottom feature.
I have three suggestions for chatGPT.
- Save an active chat as a GPT. Reason is because it may b a fresh ‘dialogue’ on a specific subject and it works well and contains a lot of knowledge. For example I had one on Tolkien’s Legendarium and it worked very well. Saving it as a GPT to preserve it’s questions, responses and style.
- Occasionally you interrupt a ‘thread’ with some random question which muddies the whole conversation. The ability to delete that section would be helpful.
- No search in the web option, only the app. Also the app only goes back so far so I have to export my data and do a page search for the content.
I came to suggest the same
ChatGPT Folder System
For people like to have things organised, I think it would be a great idea to implement a folder system for previous chats, so users could easily access advice and instructions that ChatGPT on different topics, for example, I have a few chats about software and hardware problems I had with my laptop, and they are months apart, so constantly have to scroll through my chats to see the advice given, so if I could create a folder called (Problems) or something idk, it would be very helpful. : )
And the ability to pin chats.
I need folders to put chats inside
add a delete option. like you can click on multiple chats or all chats to delete them in one go.
Recently I proposed a feature that would solve this problem.
I cannot paste link here but title is: Add + button to input field.
Please check if this is something you would like to have.
Hi, if not too much work, the page up & down button are not working. It would be nice to scroll down easily when the reply is very long. Thanks for ChatGPT!
