Hi- There’s a scam website advertised widely on social media right now purporting to be OpenAI sora, but the URL is different. It’s legit looking enough I almost installed it. I think it could help a lot of people if there was a page on the announcements that warned people that scams are out there being advertised first class on facebook. Open dash sora dot org. I see them using what appear to be publicly released sora samples. The thing that made me pause is that it’s a download and install application which seemed unlikely.
Yes, the computer intrusion and password stealing of the exe bait is a federal crime in the US. They also target the uninformed, as Sora is not an app and not released.
Then we have an FBI “are you a major corporation? Did you lose thousands? Bye”.
But: you swat a domain and a provider and the criminal pops back up. You have to SWAT the person, who could be backed by a nation-state.
Yes, lost my 60,000 member community. All that care and responsibility that facebook butters people up - they wouldn’t have had time to go through and work out the breach of all those lovely terms and conditions. A long standing account, many hours, etc toasted. FB don’t care. No amount of excuses will cover their sorry asses that when your account is toast, they offer no support as to have a review, request help etc.
Advert: This is different to the one I saw. Chilton Webb (youtube channel) did a review on this. This is a video explainer also this advert is the one that got me and the bottom line is - FB don’t give a damn.
