My team and I, are facing the same troubles. We have been eagerly awaiting Sora’s arrival for months and are reasonably annoyed that we cannot access it. Especially given the promises open-ai made when we purchased the plan that it would include “Everything in the Plus plan.”
This is absolutely insane and unacceptable, full stop.
Such a strange choice on behalf of OpenAi.
The most eager users who are not enterprise signed up to teams as up until now that was one of the earliest ways to enhance your subscription. Now it is at least in some way worse than plus, no convenient way to upgrade part of the teams to pro, and constantly “upgraded” lower compute models that loose capabilities, context lengths, etc.
I spend thousands a month on API, and Anthropic is significantly better in most cases for me.
Class action anybody?? ![]()
yes really 25$ subscription doesn’t get sora but 20$ subscription gets it ![]()
I also think it’s because in teams plan they will not be able to train on it.
I am in the same case. Only upgraded because it said it included everything in Plus.
Any hope of them fulfilling on their promise?
Rohan has confirmed that Teams users will get Sora access shortly.
Who is Rohan?
I know who it could be but others might find someone else.

Head of the Sora product team.
Where did Rohan say/confirm this?
And a great silence followed.

@imac I appreciate the reasonable response to the situation. I think you have highlighted the more likely reasons why Teams members do not have access. I hope we will see access to Sora open up soon. I wonder if they could just do it where we can toggle a switch to go into Sora mode where we know our data will be trained but the rest of the time it is back to life as normal? I am sure there are some options. ![]()
Regarding data there is an option for Plus and Pro users to disable training data, which will be automatically disabled when the Teams version launches.
they would need a new UI? Cant their AI just create one? /s
The trick is, in Plus, if you forbid from them using your chats for training data, they take away chat history to punish you.
This used to happen, but no longer does. And with Sora there is no downside as well to turning it off.
I dont follow your logic.
You say they ‘need to hyper-analyse Sora output so Teams Sora cant be inside a walled garden’.
But as of today they aren’t opening Sora to Teams.
Therefore they CAN proceed without whatever data Teams users would have created.
Therefore they could just let Teams users onto Sora, and not train on their outputs, which would leave OpenAI in exactly the same position as they are now.
Seems like stupid to me
Nobody from OpenAI has replied to this topic. ![]()
They normally don’t. Most of the time they have other stuff to do.
