Can anyone can speak to any plans for Sora credits to be provided to Team subscription tier accounts?
In the past, semantically, “Team” has been lumped in with “Plus” subscriptions when it came to feature releases. However, this time, it seems clear that Plus does not include Team regarding Sora.
I long ago upgraded my personal ChatGPT account to the Team subscription to provide access to my family members, happily paying more for the ability to do so. It’s a little disappointing not to be able to use Sora from either my work or personal ChatGPT accounts.
I’m interested in what they’re thinking as well. I feel trapped by Teams at the moment.
I only ‘upgraded’ as a single user to a Teams account when it launched in order to keep data (NDA stuff) out of the training set. (Plus users got the switch a month or so later?). There was no indication it was a one-way migration to Teams until weeks after.
Despite having a year to figure out migrations in the other direction, I remain trapped in my teams account, overpaying by 3x, and unable to escape. There’s presently no way to extract the historical chat archive at all in Teams (two years old given the first migration), and no way to downgrade my account to Plus, or upgrade my account to Pro.
The only solution offered is to delete your account, losing all (unexportable) history, custom GPTs, etc.
Once an account is deleted, it cannot be recovered, and the email address cannot be re-used, apparently.
This is a poorly thought out system. I don’t know if it’s by design. It feels like dark patterns, tbh.
I’d actually be interested in upgrading to a Pro account, but there’s no way to do it that with any account continuity.
I regret upgrading to a Teams account. They left out critical information about the permanent nature in the beginning, and don’t seem interested in allowing users to migrate back to a normal account type.
I just checked their terms of use. It does not include language that says they can modify plans in this manner. Only mention is the potential for prices changes, and that requires a 30 day notice informing all plan members before the change takes effect. In short this is NOT legal.
Agreed. I don’t know if team members are being denied access to Sora, but we don’t have access… As an early adopter, that’s just cold. Also, If you want us to migrate to a plus or pro subscription, give us the option to take our data with us.
The original language included “Everything in Plus” which included early access to new products and features. They also outright state on the sora page that Teams is not eligiable and lumped it in with Enterprise and Edu plans. This is bait-and-switch to funnel users into the $200.00 plan.
Yeah I am pretty pissed off. I got Team account the day they ANNOUNCED gpt4o months ago specifically to not get screwed like this. This is extremely rude considering I paying more for a team account AND I raised 1000 dollars of charity to get my disabled friend an account too. This is bad faith and i am utterly not impressed. ABSOLUTELY NOT IMPRESSED.
Hey, I’m really disappointed. I’ve been using ChatGPT for a long time, and now we don’t even get access to Sora? That feels like a letdown. Plus, the Team subscription lists all the Plus features, but we still can’t try it. Is this just a move to get us to buy more accounts? It feels like OpenAI is prioritizing profits over loyal users. I really hope they rethink this.
It’s interesting how Sora isn’t available in the EU, UK, or for Teams, EDU, and enterprise users. Makes me think it’s probably using the data to train the model. That would explain the low price (complete LLMos for $20) compared to competitors ($20 for video Gen only). Probably it’s less about profit and more about the value of the data to enhance the world model.
Deny Teams users access to download their data (Yes, exporting data is still not available on Teams)
Don’t allow any option to migrate back
Block access to Sora for Teams users
Release ChatGPT Pro for $200.00 a month
What a horrible thing to do to your users. It’s unfortunate so many people were scammed by the Teams plan from ScamAI. I will not be paying the $200 a month subscription, may as well just get Runway
They re kidding.
Honestly my team plan wont be renew, i dont see the interest
We dont receive any feature in advance.
We dont have all the plus advantage anymore.
And they dont communicate correctly on it
The Summary Page says what you posted but I am still seeing “Everything in Plus” as soon as I click on Get Team, so it should actually still be covered.
I’ll add the lack of invitation control to the list of frustrations with the Team subscription. We’ve been hoping this would be fixed, and yes, it is broken, for nearly a year now.
