I noticed today that the option “Sol” has been removed from the API. If attempting to use it, it now says “Voice sol is not available for your organization.”
I was able to use it before, last time was yesterday, so what happened? Is this a bug or was it intentionally pull out of the API? Any insights would be highly appreciated.
“message”: “Voice sol is not available for your organization.”,
After testing all voice options, it was by far my favorite. Sad to see it come and go so abruptly. But if it was not meant to be on the API, then I get it and feel lucky to test it and lucky to not have pushed it to prod.
Hi,
In Spain, this voice is still available.
I prefer Cove, but when I switched to the new advanced voice chat, Cove has a different tone and accent.
The “old” one has an American accent and speaks Latin American Spanish.
The “new” one has a Spanish accent, sometimes Argentine, but speaks Spain’s Spanish without “seseo,” although with a different tone.
I now have two different voices—it feels like two ChatGPTs in the same app.
They also behave differently.
I assume they will eventually switch to a more human-like voice. None of the current voices will stay as they are.
Transcription will probably disappear, and voice models will continue improving.
Since I had already gotten used to one voice, I don’t like the change. It means having to rebuild those human-like bonds with the new one, as we end up humanizing our “new AI friend,” only to have it taken away.
The only thing that comforts me is thinking it’s all leading to something much better.
