Returning to DALL-E 2's Raw Aesthetic: How to Achieve Less Polished Results with DALL-E 3

Hello,

I’m a multidisciplinary artist, and I used DALL-E 2 extensively to generate images with a unique, textured aesthetic that resonated with my work. I appreciated how it produced visuals that felt raw, a bit rough around the edges, which aligned well with the creative expression I’m exploring.

Since the release of DALL-E 3, I’ve noticed that its output seems more refined and polished, which, while impressive, doesn’t quite match the atmosphere and aesthetic I’m aiming for in my art. I miss the distinctive, less-smooth finish of DALL-E 2, which allowed for more experimental and unconventional image results.

Is there a way to revert to DALL-E 2’s rendering style or any settings that could replicate that aesthetic? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

We’ve got a lot of great dalle and dalle3 threads here at the forum.

Can you share some prompts that aren’t the same in the two models?
