Hello OpenAI Team,
I’m a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, and for the past several days I’ve been dealing with repeated chat failures that are seriously disrupting my professional work.
I’m working on an ongoing project that involves a large amount of context, uploaded files, images, design decisions, and revisions. Multiple times, a conversation has stopped working properly or a response has failed to appear. When this happens, I’m left with no practical recovery option except to create a completely new chat, summarize and transfer the entire project context, re-upload materials, and continue from there.
Then, after spending all that time rebuilding the context, the same thing happens again.
I have now had to migrate the same professional project from one conversation to another several times. This is extremely frustrating and is wasting a significant amount of my working time—especially considering that I am paying for ChatGPT Plus specifically because I use it seriously and professionally.
There is another part of this experience that has made the situation even more frustrating: I have not been able to get effective help from OpenAI Support.
When I contacted the Support Center and explained that I am from Iran and that I had purchased ChatGPT Plus, I was told to cancel my Plus subscription. After that, the support conversation essentially stopped progressing, and I was no longer receiving meaningful responses.
Since then, I have tried contacting OpenAI Support several times. I have sent multiple messages and emails, but I have not received a useful response or any meaningful follow-up. From my perspective, the support channel has effectively become unavailable to me.
So now I am facing both problems at the same time: the product itself keeps forcing me to abandon important working conversations, and the official support channel has not provided a way to resolve the issue.
Another major problem is that when one message, upload, or generation causes a conversation to fail, users do not have basic recovery controls. Please seriously consider adding options such as:
The ability to delete or unsend an individual message
The ability to remove a failed request without abandoning the entire chat
Better retry and recovery controls when a response fails
A way to restore a conversation that becomes stuck
Better continuity when an ongoing project has to be moved to another conversation
These are basic controls that exist in many other applications, and they would prevent users from losing an entire working thread because of one technical failure.
Please also investigate why long-running conversations can become unusable and why there appears to be no reliable way for a user to recover them.
I have tried to resolve this through the appropriate support channels first. I contacted Support multiple times and sent emails, but I have not been able to get the issue addressed. I am therefore forced to raise this publicly because I genuinely do not know what other option is left available to me.
I genuinely like ChatGPT and rely on it for my work. That is exactly why this situation is so frustrating. Repeatedly migrating the same professional project between conversations, re-explaining context, and re-uploading files is not a sustainable workflow.
I am paying for ChatGPT Plus, I have spent days dealing with this problem, and I have already lost a considerable amount of working time.
Please take this seriously, investigate the repeated conversation failures, improve recovery controls, and provide users with a support channel that actually allows persistent technical problems to be resolved.
Thank you.
