As a frequent user who relies heavily on both Custom GPTs and AI-driven workflows, I see immense potential for Projects to serve as a central hub for organizing, collaborating, and generating content efficiently. However, a few key improvements would make this feature significantly more powerful and user-friendly.
Proposed Enhancements
1. Dedicated Notes/Workspace Area
Currently, users have no way to paste or store information within Projects without triggering a query. Adding a dedicated “Notes” panel or workspace within Projects would allow users to:
- Paste and organize content (e.g., GPT outputs, external data) without running unnecessary queries.
- Maintain contextual notes or drafts tied to specific projects.
- Annotate GPT responses for further refinement.
2. Integration with Custom GPTs
Allow users to select and use Custom GPTs within Projects. This would include:
- A dropdown menu to assign a Custom GPT from the “My GPTs” list to a specific project.
- The ability to switch between different Custom GPTs within the same project for varied tasks.
- Direct utilization of Custom GPT capabilities for brainstorming, technical workflows, or specialized outputs without leaving the Project interface.
3. Link Conversations to Projects
Introduce an option to attach or link past conversations to a project. This would:
- Preserve continuity across projects by allowing users to reference earlier discussions.
- Save time by avoiding repetition or re-clarification of previously discussed ideas.
- Enhance collaboration when revisiting a project at a later time.
4. Expanded File and Data Management
To make Projects a comprehensive organizational tool:
- Allow users to upload and link files (e.g., PDFs, spreadsheets) to their projects.
- Enable categorization of content within projects by sections, tags, or topics for easier navigation.
5. Workflow and Task Automation
Integrate GPT-driven task management into Projects:
- GPT could generate tasks, subtasks, and deadlines based on user inputs.
- Provide integration with tools like Trello, Asana, or Notion for advanced task management.
6. Searchable Knowledge Base
Turn Projects into a searchable repository of all GPT-generated outputs and user-added content:
- Users should be able to quickly retrieve information based on keywords or topics.
- This would be particularly useful for ongoing projects requiring repeated reference to earlier outputs.
Why This Matters
These enhancements would:
- Make Projects the go-to hub for managing AI-assisted workflows.
- Eliminate inefficiencies caused by switching between multiple tools and interfaces.
