Integrating Custom GPTs with Projects

I would like to request an enhancement to improve workflow integration between Custom GPTs and Projects within ChatGPT.

Currently, there are two limitations that affect usability:

  1. Conversations created using a Custom GPT cannot be moved into a Project.

  2. Custom GPTs cannot be used directly within a Project.

This creates a fragmentation in workflow, especially for users who rely on Projects for organization and Custom GPTs for specialized tasks. The inability to combine these two features makes it difficult to maintain structured, long-term work.

It would be highly beneficial to introduce integration between Custom GPTs and Projects. Specifically:

  • Allow conversations generated through Custom GPTs to be moved into Projects.

  • Enable the use of Custom GPTs directly within Projects.

This enhancement would significantly improve productivity, organization, and overall user experience—particularly for users managing complex or ongoing work.

I can see the friction there. If you’re organizing work inside Projects but relying on Custom GPTs for specific tasks, having those two features separated makes the workflow feel fragmented.

The ability to move Custom GPT conversations into Projects, or to run a Custom GPT directly within a Project, would make ongoing and structured work much smoother.
