I was almost done with a project in ChatGPT-4 when it suddenly disappeared. In fact, all my previous projects are gone as well. I keep getting the message: “Project not found or insufficient permissions. Please verify the project exists, and ensure that your account has the necessary permissions and that there are no workplace restrictions preventing access.” I didn’t save them elsewhere, and now I’m stuck with less than 5 minutes to complete one. Any ideas on how to recover or finish quickly?

It’s a common issue. Log out and back in again should hopefully resolve it for you like it did for me.

I have the same issue. I still can’t access my project and all previous conversation are blocked… Any solutions?
Same here. I don’t see the Projects section. It’s gone. I am on Pro.

I’ve gone in today and I’ve lost my projects and the corresponding chats. I’ve logged out and logged back in and still missing.
Yesterday I downloaded the mobile app and used that. I can still see projects in there but not on desktop.
Help.

I had to log in using a different browser. Google Chrome is still not showing the tab. I have logged in using Microsoft Edge, and it’s displayed there. The only thing I rember doing is clearing my temp files from the system, I dont know if it was the resaon!

I have the same problem – when I changed my Chrome profile or switched to incognito mode, it was shown correctly. It’s an annoying bug.
Finally, I had to delete all browsing data (history, cookies, cache)
This happened to me for about a week or so. Then my projects came back for about a week. Now they are gone again. Very frustrating.

I am missing chats that I have stored in project folders. It seems that if the folder has to refresh while scrolling down, it is duplicating the above chats instead of showing the older chats that were there. Is there a fix for this? Anyone else had this happen?

All my projects disappeared this week. Page refresh, log-out/log-in, cookies cleaning - nothing helped. The section with projects disappeared as well. And I cannot find any data from projects using search.
@OpenAI_Support it seems you have a bug with the web version of ChatGPT for Google Chrome. As I wrote above, the Project sections disappeared in my web app tenant this week. I use the latest version of Google Chrome for macOS. The following operations didn’t help: log out/in, manual site data removal, hard refresh. But, the Project sections are available on ChatGPT for iOS, via Safari on the same macOS machine and via incognito mode in Google Chrome. I hope you’ll fix it soon.

Chat GPT project disappeared suddenly, why? all my projects have disappeared AGAIN 2 times in 3 Days.
ZZZ this happens on firefox too.
Any news on this? Or should we just give up the ChatGPT Project feature?

I went from Pro to free account and my projects disappeared. The chats are still there, but I get the following error message when I try to continue the dialogue:
Project not found or insufficient permissions. Please verify the project exists, and ensure that your account has the necessary permissions and that there are no workplace restrictions preventing access.
Looks like the projects are gone, and there is some relation from the chat that lingers that keeps me from continuing the dialogue. Seems like a bug that would be great if it could get fixed.
Solution: Go into the developer tools and delete the cache, worked for my account using safari
