Problem "Request is not allowed" (Google Pixel)

Hi,

Since yesterday, I haven’t been able to use the ChatGPT app on Android. Every time I try to connect, I get an error message that says: “request not allowed.”

I’ve tried restarting the app, checking my internet connection, and even reinstalling, but nothing works. Has anyone else had this issue or found a solution?

Thanks for any help!

I also have this issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, I have cleared the app cache and storage. No luck. I’m on a pixel 8 running latest Android beta as well.

Same here with pixel 8 pro and android beta.
I am opting out of beta and waiting for the new non-beta update. From chrome it works fine. No way for the app.

Same here, Android 15 Beta, just did another beta update and removed myself from GPT Beta and no joy.

I did get an SSL certificate warning until i updated to the latest Android beta version, that seems to have stopped but i still get the access denied / request not allowed error.

Tried the usual

Also checked that DNS requests not being blocked by Adguard, all good, and no firewall blocks.

its highly likely the OS update broke something but the head should not wag the tail, so OpenAI please resolve

Without doing anything yesterday it was working fine, today one more time not working…
So I would say you will not change the problem… This is maybe our phone, maybe Chatgpt… but for sure without doing anything it was not working two days ago, working yesterday, not working today.

I have the same problem on my Pixel 8 Pro running Android 15 beta. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. After reinstall, it hangs then errors out before giving me the option to sign out. Sign in with Google and sign up options both fail with a pop up saying a network error. There are no issues with my connection and happens on Wi-Fi, mobile, VPN or not.

Same issue. Pixel 8 on 15 Beta. Power cycled, cleared cache, uninstalled\reinstalled. Only started seeing issue yesterday Nov 18th.

Weirdly going through Chrome doesn’t work either even after requesting as desktop site.

There is no solution as i said in my Last reply … the problem is from openai or related with pixel phones.

would be nice to get an official reply from openai so we at least know they are looking at it. Not sure if they reply on this community. Given they don’t exactly give support, but if it’s not fixed, I’ll cancel my pro sub and try another provider because I use it every day. Its frustrating!
