OpenAI is making a huge mistake by deprecating DALL-E-3

I want to emphasize once again that the sudden removal of DALL·E 3 from the chat, overnight and without warning, shows a clear disregard for users. There was no advance notice, no official warning — just a decision put in place as if users’ needs and feedback didn’t matter at all. For many people who based their workflow on this tool, it was a huge disappointment.

After DALL·E 3 was removed from the chat, I was told here that DALL·E 3 is still available via the API. So I set up the API, generated some images, and instead of the 2–3 MB files I used to get on the chat, I now receive images that are only 500–600 KB, with heavy compression and noticeably lower quality. There was no warning that the quality and file size via API would be nowhere near what you get from the chat.

Honestly, I feel misled — I was promised a tool of the same level, but in practice, the results from the API just aren’t suitable for professional use. With this level of compression, these files are not usable for any serious graphic work.

Thank you.
