O3-mini availability as of 27 March 25

Im tier 3 account since 2024. To date 27 March 25, i still do not have access to o3-mini on API even though it was listed on the pricing and list of available models at https://platform.openai.com/docs/pricing.

Calling it through chat completion via replacing my existing o1-mini code with o3-mini gave me the error:
NotFoundError: Error code: 404 - {‘error’: {‘message’: ‘The model o3-mini does not exist or you do not have access to it.’, ‘type’: ‘invalid_request_error’, ‘param’: None, ‘code’: ‘model_not_found’}}

I could easily gain acess through it on various AI assistant platform like Cusor, AIAssistant etc.

I have been waiting for the model since Jan 25, may I check is this normal? What is the status with OpenAI now? Is it worth waiting? Or should I up level my tier by buying credits to tier 4? (I’m very close to tier 4)

I can confirm that I have access to o3-mini at Tier 4 but the rollout is gradual and in randomized batches I believe.

A post here says it is available to all tiers though some are still waiting for access
