O1 pro instantly returns error message "Something went wrong while generating the response..." on all devices

Issue: o1 pro instantly returns the following error messages when interacting with it across different devices and networks:

Desktop: “Something went wrong while generating the response. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.”

iOS and iPadOS: “Hmm… something seems to have gone wrong.”

Additionally, I see this error when attempting to use o1 pro inside a project: “An error occurred. Either the engine you requested does not exist or there was another issue processing your request. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.”

I’ve been experiencing the issue for about 24 hours. Is anyone else affected?

The fact that the issue extends across different devices and networks tells me the issue is on OpenAI’s side, and is not related to e.g. 3rd party apps, Chrome’s cache, VPNs, etc. The only consistent thread I can think of on the user side is using Google sign in; maybe someone can rule that out for me if they’re also experiencing issues.

o1 pro appears to be working again. No response from OpenAI support, so unsure as to the cause.

i get the same error now, i suspect it’s due to the new limits introduced on February 13, 2025:

“o1 pro mode: Also available in the model picker this week is o1 pro mode. Designed for accuracy and depth, it excels in research, engineering, business, and law—ideal for professionals tackling highly complex challenges. O1 pro mode will take longer to think through a problem. So responses can take some time. Due to its computational intensity, each user is limited to five queries per month. For most tasks, o1, o3-mini, or GPT-4o will remain optimal choices.

I finally was able to solve it!

I did many tries and the thing that solved it was to turn on allow websites tracking and simmilar settings in my browser.

Another thing that worked was trying to use the model through Opera browser.

Got same issue, try clear dns/history/cookie, all device cannot work, incloud mac /windows /ios

Seems to me that this is only applicable to education and enterprise accounts.

This issue is related to the model instantly yielding errors across browsers and devices and networks.

Same issue. still trying.
