In ChatGPT Enterprise, users can request an increase to their usage limit when they reach their allotted credits. The request appears under Admin Console → Usage limits → Pending requests, and workspace admins are notified that action is needed.
However, after an admin approves or denies the request, the requesting user does not appear to receive an email or in-app notification. They may only realize the increase was approved when they try using ChatGPT again.
This creates an unnecessary communication gap for both users and workspace administrators, especially in larger Enterprise environments where requests are handled by multiple admins.
Requested improvement:
-
Notify the requester when their usage-limit request is approved or denied.
-
Support both an in-app notification and email notification.
-
For approved requests, show the new usage limit and whether it is temporary or permanent.
-
For temporary increases, show the expiration/reset date.
-
For denied requests, allow the admin to include an optional reason or next step.
This would make the Pending Requests workflow complete from end to end and reduce the need for admins to send separate manual emails or Teams messages after each decision.
