Feature Request: Show Usage Warnings Inside the Active Work Workflow Window

Please add a visible usage warning directly inside the active ChatGPT Work workflow window when a user is approaching their usage limit.

I am specifically referring to the workspace where ChatGPT is actively creating, editing, or iterating on things such as PowerPoint presentations, documents, spreadsheets, lesson materials, and other artifacts.

I am not asking for a warning in the ordinary ChatGPT chat window.

The problem is that when I am working inside a Work workflow, I can be deeply into creating or revising a PowerPoint presentation and have no visible indication that my remaining usage allowance is getting low.

The usage meter exists elsewhere in Settings, but that is not useful while I am actively working.

I should not have to leave the Work workflow, dig through Settings, check my remaining usage, and then return to the project just to find out whether the system is about to stop.

Instead, the remaining usage should be surfaced directly inside the active Work interface.

For example, while working on a PowerPoint:

25% usage remaining

10% remaining — you are approaching your current limit

5% remaining — this workflow may be interrupted soon

Or, if the next operation is expected to consume a large amount of the remaining allowance:

This task may use most of your remaining allowance.

The exact percentages or wording are not important. What matters is that the warning appears automatically inside the workflow where the usage is actually being consumed.

This is particularly important because Work tasks can involve multiple steps and iterations.

For example, I might be:

  • generating a PowerPoint deck;

  • reviewing the completed slides;

  • asking for several slides to be revised;

  • changing examples or exercises;

  • fixing formatting;

  • adding images;

  • rewriting instructions;

  • or continuing to iterate on the same artifact.

During that process, the workflow may continue consuming my allowance without giving me any obvious indication that I am close to the limit.

Then, suddenly, the system stops because the allowance has been exhausted.

That is extremely disruptive.

At that point I may be halfway through a coherent workflow, with several remaining changes I intended to make, and I am forced to stop simply because there was no visible warning that the available usage was almost gone.

The Work interface already knows that the user is running an active workflow and the system already knows the remaining usage allowance.

Those two pieces of information should be connected.

Ideally, the Work workflow window should show:

  • a visible indication of remaining usage;

  • automatic warnings when the allowance becomes low;

  • the approximate time until usage replenishes;

  • a warning before starting an operation likely to consume a large portion of what remains.

The key point is this:

If ChatGPT Work can consume enough usage to abruptly terminate an active professional workflow, then the usage warning needs to appear inside ChatGPT Work itself.

Do not make users leave the workflow and manually search through Settings to discover whether they are about to be cut off.

Show the warning where the work is actually happening, before the workflow is interrupted.
