My dad is a Plus subscriber in Canada. He subscribed to plus today so he could use the new search function (for sports scores, current events, etc.) It works when I type in a question but it doesn’t work with voice (which is all he can use). Does anybody know what is going on? He’s mad at me since he just paid $24.99 so he can check sports scores and it’s not working.

Standard voice has the ability to access internet resources, but Advanced voice does not have this capability yet. Read more
Also, if you do not initiate your location, standard voice does not know it.
However, if you input as text choosing to search by clicking the web Search icon, it will know your IP address, and your location.
Fortunately, there is a good news end of the this content, but there is no mention about timeline when it will be brought:

Once write a word in model, for example “Hi” and enter. When you input someting end enter, AVM is canceled and returns to standard voice. Then start to speak clicking on the icon.
