I dont know if this is an ongoing problem but i cant seem to find any topics similar to this.
I was writing a story using ChatGPT and was having a great time, until the chat bugged and would not save anything beyond that.
Only this specific chat and not others. I would refresh the conversation and regenerate older chats to get rid of this bugged chat, but after leaving the app, when i re-open the chat, what was supposed to be something like =
User1 → Assistant1 → User2 → Assistant2 → User3 → Assistant3 → User4 → Assistant4
(It was like this before i left the app)
Became something like =
User1 → Assistant1 → User2 → User3 → User4
With the bot’s answer for no 2, 3 and 4 dissapearing.
I tried to clear cache, force stop, etc, even editing older prompts to regenerate the chat again, but somehow, when i get to a certain point again, the bot would reference something from this deleted message.
Ex =
(For context, lets say its a story about a butterfly and a caterpillar, the previous prompt was the caterpillar being bird food or something)
Prev prompt =
User1 : Tell me a story about a butterfly and a caterpillar!
Assistant1 : sure! A butterfly met an insecure caterpillar and comforted the caterpillar.
User2 : Lets say the butterfly didnt quite word it right, and the caterpillar continues to be sad and didnt realise a bird was coming to catch it
Assistant2 : The caterpillar was too deep into sorrow that it did not notice the bird coming to eat it.
[Chat refreshed from point User2]
Refreshed chat =
User1 : Tell me a story about a butterfly and a caterpillar!
Assistant1 : sure! A butterfly met an insecure caterpillar and comforted the caterpillar.
User2 : The butterfly comforted the Caterpillar and cheered him up
Assistant2 : The caterpillar was eaten by the bird but was comforted by the butterfly’s words.
[Somehow referencing the previous prompt?]
Is there a fix for this problem? I cannot afford to restart fresh because my memory is full and i cannot afford to retell every story again.
