I would like to suggest a native “Smart Home Assistant Mode” for ChatGPT, ideally usable through a dedicated speaker or always-available voice device.
The goal would be to combine ChatGPT’s natural conversation and contextual understanding with reliable smart home control.
Key features could include:
- Natural language commands without rigid phrasing
- Context awareness across a conversation
- Control of lights, heating, TVs, cameras and other smart home devices
- Confirmation before sensitive actions or purchases
- Optional personalized wake word
- Strong safety rules for potentially dangerous actions
- A more proactive assistant experience, while still respecting user control
This would make ChatGPT feel much more like a true domestic assistant rather than just a chatbot, and could provide a far more natural experience than current traditional voice assistants.
