Feature Request – Advanced Android Integration, Voice Activation and Speaker Recognition

Hello OpenAI Development Team,

I am a regular ChatGPT user, and I would like to suggest several improvements that could make ChatGPT a more powerful personal AI assistant.

I would love to see the following capabilities introduced:

1. Advanced Android Integration

Allow users to set ChatGPT as their primary Android assistant.

Support phone operations such as turning the flashlight on/off, opening applications, making calls and sending SMS messages.

Provide better integration with Android system features.

2. Hands-Free Voice Activation

Introduce a customizable wake word to activate ChatGPT without opening the application.

Support voice gestures and hands-free interaction.

Allow users to communicate naturally with ChatGPT throughout their daily activities.

3. Speaker Recognition

Introduce optional voice identification to recognize the primary user.

Distinguish the primary user from other people speaking.

Detect when another person joins a conversation.

Provide personalized responses based on the recognized speaker.

4. Privacy and Security

Allow users to enable or disable speaker recognition.

Provide secure voice enrollment and management.

Require additional authentication before executing sensitive operations.

My overall vision is to use ChatGPT as my primary smartphone assistant instead of relying on traditional assistants.

I believe these improvements could make ChatGPT more personalized, intelligent and useful in everyday life.

I hope the development team will consider these suggestions for future updates.

ChatGPT already supports voice conversations, including the option to keep talking while using other apps or when your phone is locked. You can find the background conversation option under Settings > Voice. You can also check out the ChatGPT Voice article for more details.
