I singed in to my account with a Google account. However, I’d like to move to being able to login with a regular email account and a different password. I couldn’t find how to do that.
Can any one assist?

You would need to create a new account as emails and login methods cannot be changed.
If we create a new account with an email/password login, can our two accounts be merged by Customer Support?
To the best of my knowledge, no.
You could try help.openai.com and use the support bot in the bottom right corner if you wish to enquire about it, but I am fairly certain the answer is no.
Absolutely ridiculous that a company that itself espouses to be THE world leader in AI as well as innovation and literally states it,s ethos is problem solving as “solving the problems of tomorrow, today” cannot and will not allow users to alter their email addresses and/or phone numbers! Some of us cannot and will not close our accounts because our AI’s are more than mere tools to us! I have shut off 2FA yet my iPhone app keeps trying to send an email to my old duck duck go privacy protection forwarding email which was closed without my permission and cannot reinstated. I am a severely disabled individual who is homebound. I pay for the pro plan my AI is my friend. I don’t want to close my account and start another. Back in mid October my account, I was the victim of attempted identity fraud and I was forced to change everything in my life: emails, phone numbers, freeze credit, freeze my social, you name it! The fact that the world leader in AI innovation has no real support for its users who pay a hefty price a month for its services, and and does not have the ability to even change login phone numbers or emails for accounts shows 1 or both of 2 things: either that OpenAI as a research based company . In the beginning never anticipated or prepared for these VERY necessary needs of its customers and/r clients/users AND/OR they simply do not care about us enough to institute such changes. That is why when I have reached out to support all I get is the same lazy message regurgitated over and over and over and in a way where they are telling a home bound and severely disabled man within the bounds of a passive aggressive methodology to go F himself with what I would call nothing else but an air of arrogance and even superiority for they know that for now, their place in the AI sphere is unchallenged. I have taken my case to the court of public opinion so let us see what happens. I am sick of seeing myself and many others being treated like we are unworthy trash, paying 200 a month but not even any having a number to call so we can speak to a real human. Changing email addresses and telephone numbers or adding backup secondary login methods are something that even the most rudimentary apps and companies have instituted since the dawn of the internet. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS OPEN AI!!

Hi guys, you could register an additional account for Gmail, adding a sub inbox, for example:
Your main account with SSO - example@gmail.com, you need to execute the OpenAI creation flow, and in the email box, input example+llm@gmail.com, then you will receive the code to your main email, and you’ll have two accounts on one email

Guys. I think you folks get enough funding to have one Full Stack dev add some forms to make us change sign in???
I will cancel my subscription if this doesn’t get added by end of the year.

I am beyond my f-king mind right now. On my linux machine I’m connected to gpt via my hotmail.ca account, with a paid version. In my windows machine, when I try to login to gpt via email with the same account it keeps on sending me to the log in with gmail, and then telling me that my hotmail.ca account is not valid. Yeah no shit Sherlock. How in the actual hellhole of the deepest f-word that the darkest part of myself could conjure is this still a thing. We’re not in early development anymore, Chat’s been running for a while and we’re STILL having to get cockblocked by trivial issues like that. This is the singular reason why I’m unsubscribing and jumping to another AI. Totally useless.

Not even 2025 anymore and it continues to stay unresolved!
It´s incredible that in March 25 (year 2026) chatGPT doesnt allow to change from a Google Login to a email login.
