Microphone Source Settings Inquiry

I have different microphones on my computer besides the built-in one on my MacBook Pro. These work when I use my MacBook like a desktop with the lid closed. In this mode, I can’t use the app’s microphone. Is there a way in the settings to change the microphone source so I can still use the dictation feature? Thanks.

+1 here. I have no way to select a microphone in the app, and it will not recognize my mike.

Found a way to do it with Loopback but you need to buy a 100 usd app … Free trial tough

You simply have to change the system default mic.

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Click Sound
  3. Click the Input tab and select your Mic.

Doing this worked for me, I have Razor USB Headphones and once I made this change I was able to dictate to the ChatGPT app on my MacBook pro.
