I am a user who has been paying for more than a year and I cannot access Sora. I am a user who has been paying for more than a year and I cannot access Sora.
Welcome back, @eugeniokuke . Yes, it’s a bit frustrating for sure. They’ve been opening and closing, so I would check back as often as you can.
Good luck.
(something about doomed to repeat…)
It does make sense to have (or to have had) a more structured rollout, to have people get Sora out of their system and 1000 credits out of their accounts. First, those who were subscribers to the new Pro tier, transitioning to those willing to sign up for it, progressing through those with the longest faithful Plus+ subscriptions…
Imagine my frustration of paying $200 to have access to ChatGPT Pro just because of Sora (as its access was advertised by them on the ChatGPT Pro Subscription page) and then being prevented to create an account.
I hope they address it soon.
Edit: Just got in! Try now if you saw this!
I’m not sure if this will help move things any faster for me but like many others, I am a longtime paid user and have recently upgraded to the pro plan. A primary reason for my upgrade from plus to pro was the ability to use Sora.
It is extremely frustrating to not be able to sign up. This really reflects bad on OpenAI and it’s Rollout of new services.
I am in the same boat and this is frustrating. Being told to just check back often is not a proper response, I do not wish to spend my day refreshing the page to see if the signups are open again.
I am also seeing a sporadic message of “not available in your country” even though I am in the US and am accessing it from a local ip.
Edit: Just got in, go try now if you see this.
In my case, it’s almost impossible to login to Sora from Day 1, maybe only some people got the privilege?
Anytime I wanted to login to my Sora account, it’s always like this:
Everytime I tried to login to my Sora account, it’s always like this. Does anyone have any solution for this?
They’re doing it the wrong way. They should first release it to Pro users, then to Plus users. That’s how it was supposed to happen. They mentioned that new models would be available to Pro users first, which is why I got the Pro plan. Now, we’re just waiting.
Useless to pay $200, when you have don’t have access to Sora.
Pro users are prioritised, the issue is the number of Pro user signups, more demand than supply, it’s a top priority and it will be addressed, but it takes time to bring more compute online.
I am writing to express also my disappointment with a recent experience regarding access to the features advertised for ChatGPT Pro subscribers. Specifically, I am referring to the case of Sora, which, despite being promoted as accessible through the Pro subscription, was initially unavailable to users.
As a professional who has chosen to invest in a $200 monthly subscription, I believe the company should ensure priority access for those who directly support and contribute to the platform’s development through a significant subscription fee. The lack of immediate access to the announced features not only causes frustration but also raises concerns about the professionalism of the service toward those who rely on the platform for professional purposes.
If the company’s goal is to enter the business market, it is essential to ensure that the services meet expectations and that premium subscribers receive preferential treatment. This includes delivering on advertised features at the time of subscription and providing priority access to new implementations.
I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and take steps to ensure the service meets the promised standards.
Thank you
well they lost me as a client
I am not far behind! No access with Pro Plan!

You do not “have” a login to Sora. You will only be able to attempt to log in and create a Sora-specific account when the site does not say that signups are unavailable.
Totally agree. Not a Pro user (yet at least), but it is disappointing for them to underestimate the demand/influx of new users (if this was truly the reason for why they have paused new users).
I would have imagined that they would have tested this new demand load to confirm that there wouldn’t be any issues (within reason).
Same. I assume they’re whitelisting and onboarding tiers of pre-approved enterprise and creative partners before allowing critical mass. Nevertheless, tough to be a paying user this long just to be left in the dust at the starting line.
Just be grateful you’re not in Europe where we pay just as much as US subscribers but we always get every new feature much later. Right now Sora isn’t even available to us.
I feel like we are getting a lower tier service from OpenAI and should be charged accordingly.
Interestingly enough, they thought a 200$ paywall would prevent the demand, but didn’t know by which extend. On the other hand realizing that people like lotta people are actually willing to pay that absurd 200$/month exceeding OpenAI expectations is a worrying sign.
Just do what Chinese OpenAI uses do, you don’t have to be a European on the internet.
