@OpenAI_Support I’m following up again because I’m still stuck and I’m not getting any help through support.
I replied to my existing support case twice with the information requested via email, including the exact attempt time, time zone, surface used, and screenshots. I also emailed support separately. I still have not received a useful response or any fix.

I am still unable to access Codex. The issue is not only with a third-party tool. I cannot sign in to the Codex app/Codex device login, and I also cannot connect third-party tools that rely on Codex/ChatGPT sign-in.
Normal account authentication succeeds, but then Codex asks me to verify an old French/Orange phone number that I no longer control.
I can access my ChatGPT account normally and can verify ownership through email, active subscription, billing/payment details, authenticator verification, login history, or any other reasonable method.
Support previously told me to create a new account, but that is not a real solution because my existing account contains my subscription, history, memories, projects, preferences, and Codex-related work.
Could you please help me restore access? I urgently need Codex access restored on my existing paid account. No one gets back to me via email.
I have also been using ChatGPT since 2022, where all chat records, projects, memories, preferences, and other data are saved. However, OpenAI customer service asked me to create a ‘new account’, which is completely unacceptable.

@OpenAI_Support I’m experiencing the same issue. I registered for ChatGPT in 2022, but due to the system issue a few days ago, my Pro subscription was lost. After it was restored, I tried to log in to Codex and was asked to verify using the phone number I originally registered with.
I no longer have access to that phone number, so I’m unable to log in to Codex and use the benefits included with my Pro subscription.

I’m experiencing the same issue.
My account has an active ChatGPT Plus subscription and I also use Codex. I previously enabled Advanced Account Security, registered a passkey, and saved my recovery key.
However, when I try to sign in, I’m never given the option to use either my passkey or recovery key. Instead, after signing in with Google, I’m immediately required to verify an old phone number that I no longer have access to, which leaves me locked out of my account.
I’ve already opened a support ticket with OpenAI.

I’m sorry to say that I’m still locked out. The core problem is that Codex requires phone verification on every use, but the phone number registered to my account is an old number I no longer have, so I have no way to receive the verification code (SMS or WhatsApp) and cannot pass the check. ChatGPT itself still works, but Codex remains completely unusable for me. Even after the earlier review, nothing has changed on my account.
For reference, my existing case number is 10460379. I’d be sincerely grateful if your team could review my account-specific situation again and help me either update the verification method or unblock Codex access.
One thing I’d like to add: I’m a paying 20x Pro subscriber, and being unable to use Codex despite the subscription has been genuinely difficult for my work.
