I've run out of 4o Chat GPT Pro prompts and have to wait

How is this even possible? I made the irrational choice to spend $200 on pro because I just ran out of prompts as a plus use. I’m a special education teacher. Now that I’ve upgraded to pro, it still wants me to wait until 10 before I can continue using 4o. I have work to do. I have IEPs due today. HELP!!!

I find that very interesting. Can you still use the normal o1 (not “pro-mode”) model?

Hi,

The Pro Plan description is this

  • Access to o1 pro mode, which uses more compute for the best answers to the hardest questions

*Usage must be reasonable and comply with our policies

So, if you are making a great many Pro Mode calls, it can be limited. o1 non pro mode access remains unlimited.

The reality is that there is only so much compute and many users, and while $200 is a much larger amount to pay than a Plus plan, it is still a fixed amount.

Thanks for sharing.
I found myself prompting the pro model with mundane questions today. The answers weren’t necessarily better, though.

Maybe it just makes sense to use smaller models for easy questions instead?

What was your use case before you encountered the rate limit?

I can see a time wher ethe model itself decides on what version to call depending on the question complexity. For now though, yep, I tend to use 4o unless i find that response lacking and then step it up o1-mini, o1 and finially pro.

My perception is that the o1 models perform exceptionally well when dealing with larger sets of conditional requirements. For example, if there is only one condition to satisfy, there is little to gain from overanalyzing the problem.

I am still exploring the specific advantages of the Pro model compared to O1. These advantages might lie in math-specific problems or, ideally, in formal logic as a whole.

Yes, that’s what the official description says.
However, the original posting from @qchsbandkids suggests something different.
Could the Pro users here perhaps share their experiences? Is it still possible to use the O1 model if you no longer have O1 Pro requests available? And roughly how much can you use O1 Pro before hitting a limit?

Wait a minute - is it possible that the initial posting from @qchsbandkids is not about o1 Pro, not even about o1 or GPT-4o - but actually about GPT-4 (those old enough might remember). In the screenshot it sais ‘GPT-4’ - I thought this was some bug, but maybe it isn’t. I could also imagine the same GPT-4 limits still apply since no one still thought about them.

I was using just non pro o1, but I came to the point where it wouldn’t analyze images anymore and wanted me to wait 30 minutes.

Thank you for the clarification. This is interesting.
This would mean o1 use is not actually unlimited.
