Inline links in responses don't have a target URL, even in o1 Pro

I’ve just joined Pro, and I’m surprised to still see a rather basic issue with links in responses, that I’ve been patient with in ChatGPT Plus. Hopefully it can solved quickly because broken reference links in a $200/mo product are unbecoming

Here’s an example of a non-existent link. I see these in every response inlining links (not in sources):

These “links” don’t have an href attribute, yet are styled to look like links (minus the underlining), and the mouse cursor doesn’t change to a pointer when hovering over them. They’re not clickable, and there’s no tooltip (or HTML data, if you inspect them) to where the link might go.

This is a significant problem when the references are hallucinations, like in this case.

I think the response contains a fucntion.element style part that you are thinking is a web-link, unless I’m missing something, the Developer.MetaDataVisability is not supposed to be clickable.

I think it’s supposed to be clickable because the markup is an a element, with a target="_new" attribute.

A prompt to output links to Wikipedia, managed to output clickable links:

You can try the first prompt, which outputs non-clickable links in the Documentation References, several times if necessary to see the bug:

Discuss the availability of the setNamedRange Google Apps Script API method, and include a section of Documentation References at the end.
