I am unable to access Sora's video generation feature

I recently subscribed to ChatGPT Plus because I wanted to try out Sora. However, I found out that new users are temporarily restricted from using the video generation feature.

But I am not even a new user, so I don’t understand why I still don’t have access.

I would like to know when this limitation will be lifted. My intention was to try Sora a few times, and if I was satisfied, I was considering subscribing to the $200/month plan.

While I understand the company’s reasoning behind this policy, from a customer’s perspective, it feels unfair and quite frustrating.

I’m having the same issue. I think it might just be broken atm. My video hangs in queue but never generates. Images work fine.

We're looking into this now! From our status page, "New users may experience temporary delays in video generation capabilities. We are applying the mitigation and are monitoring the recovery."

I'll write back here with updates and feel free to keep an eye on the status page as well.

So it’s it been two weeks from the response I see. I Have a message that says “Video generation is temporarily disabled for new accounts” Can you tell us why? and when will you be allowing the use of video to new user? Was keen to take it for a test run :frowning:

Do you remember the date you signed up for Sora? Curious to take a look!

Video generation is now available to all new users :tada:

This had previously been disabled due to capacity constraints, but that limitation has been lifted. We’ve updated the Help Center to reflect this, and the status page has been resolved.
