How to connect an AI assistant to the internet?

Greetings, community :wave:

I am not a programmer, and perhaps that’s why I don’t understand something when creating my AI assistant on the page https://platform.openai.com/assistants. More specifically, I want to create an assistant with internet access so that I can provide links to the assistant at the message level for study, ask it to find various resources on various topics, and verify the accuracy of the provided data with open sources on the internet. Can you advise me on what I need to do here to access the internet:

Having the same issue here. When I create a custom GPT, it has the ability to search recent news articles out-of-the-box. But an assistant does not. How can I fix that?

Not sure why this is not a built in function.

It will be great addition to have a bility to enable/disable online search.

Alsoit will be superuseful feature to provide option for connecting multiple storage as data sources e.g database, sharepoints, onedrive, jira …etc
