Same here - tried using the Image API - it said I need to verify the organization…
Click here → Took me to settings / general - with a button to “verify organization”…
Clicking the Verify button →
Asked for credit card to “verify” the organization - did NOT tell me it would be charging me any money…
Unexpectedly, charged me 5$… I figure it might be refunded - I was wrong.
Failed verification and didn’t say why…
Didn’t ask for ID, or any other info…
There’s no option to try verification again…
I thought it might have given me credits but I didn’t get credits either - OpenAI just ate my 5$ and I got nothing back in exchange…
I feel like whoever coded the verification workflow was probably vibe-coding because this is ridiculous.
The same thing happened to me, but I always use a virtual card and leave my card with an extremely low limit to avoid unwanted surprises.
When I try to mark the card as the default payment, OpenAi tries to charge $5 without any reason or warning.
Facing the same problem as you, it’s very frustrating, understand you. We currenlty using OpenAI models on startup and it would be for us killer feature, new image generation is sick. Despite of the fact that we spent more than hundreds $ every month on models, still can’t proceed with this problem.
What you cannot do. You may not use our Services for any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity. For example, you may not:
Represent that Output was human-generated when it was not.
I believe this might be the email address to submit issues, such as this too-common verification failure, where support can scan for this particular organization’s concern.
Certainly, include an organization ID that is affected along with the email.
im tier 4 and my site refreshed on its own while attempting verification, and openai said that their technical team is investigating it and its been like a week
Make the conditions transparent. nobody answers my e-mail for a week. what is this nonsense? Why did I refill my balance if I can’t use your latest APIs? Give me my money back.
What is this fictitious filter? Why my friend got verification without looking for a minute, and I with exactly the same initials. I’ve been waiting for a week for an answer from support because my verification button is frozen?
“The session has expired
Please restart this process or request a new link to continue.”
I can’t connect directly, I can’t connect via OpenRouter no details on o3 usage restrictions you don’t have in your docs. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I’m having a similar issue. I’m U.S citizen with a plus account, and my Dev account has access to the image-gen model - but when I went to click ‘verify organization’ it instantaneously rejected me with no reason given. I was not prompted to provide ID or anything, just instant rejection.
I’ve emailed support, but I’m pretty clearly talking to a GPT agent, and its telling me 'there is no way to restart the process".
As you can imagine, being locked out of the latest image gen model, and any newer model, seemingly indefinitely, is a massive disadvantage, especially in the AI age where even days lost is a big loss.
Is there a way to have a human review my account? There is literally 0 reason I can’t be verified, and I have a taxID for an LLC too if needed.
I’m in a similar boat to you, Adam. It’s infuriating, although something tells me that @OpenAI_Support won’t be much help based on the earlier message someone received.
Basically “you fail it once, forget about ever being verified again.”
Thanks Adam and sorry to hear. Please submit these details to support@openai.com from the email address associated with your account and our team will make sure to review asap.
@OpenAI - @OpenaAI_Support– Your organization verification process is seriously undermining trust in your platform.
As a business user relying on your services for real-world AI development, I’ve encountered unacceptable delays and complete silence from your support team during what should be a simple verification process.
The forums are full of users reporting the same issue, with no transparency, no follow-up, and no workaround.
For a company that claims to be at the forefront of artificial intelligence, it is disappointing to see such a critical bottleneck remain unresolved while your users are left in the dark.
If OpenAI cannot provide a reliable experience, developers and businesses will be forced to look for more dependable alternatives.
I’ve already emailed support@openai.com from my associated email address, but it’s been a week and I haven’t received any reply. Could you please help to speed this up? Thanks!
I’m facing the same issue. I’ve e-mailed the support, and first few e-mails I got responses generated by LLM. I’ve asked for a human and I got contacted by Shaira after 2 days. Sadly, no real help has been provided:
I didn’t get an explanation why was my verification declined,
I didn’t get a timeline when can I attempt to verify again,
my request to verify again by providing a different ID (a government issued one) was declined
So basically - I don’t know when, I don’t know why. Sad.
