I have a GPT that does what I want and would like to access it via an API. I think there’s no direct way to do this and documentation tells me to use the “Assistant” instead, but I tried and the results aren’t as expected. The answers diverge a lot. Is the possibility to “wrap” an API around a custom GPT a feature that will come to OpenAI ?

There is no way to interact with a custom GPT without breaching the terms of service other than through the web interface.
At least, I haven’t seen one. That’s by design and if you like, post your case with the assistant in the community for additional help.
