I have a Pro account. I created a simple task a few weeks ago and want to edit it. But now, I don’t have the GPT 4o with Scheduled Tasks model in my pulldown … where’d it go and how can I edit my task?
I don’t have it in my pulldown at all, and never did. I can’t figure out why because it seems like everyone has it but me.
Hi, welcome to the community!
Tasks WERE working with GPT-4o.
Probably you WERE seeing this model selector including “GPT-4o with scheduled tasks”.
But now, there is not “GPT-4o with scheduled tasks” on model selector.
It is updated, and now:
ChatGPT tasks are currently supported by o3 and o4-mini.
https://help.openai.com/en/articles/10291617-scheduled-tasks-in-chatgpt
You can find your previous tasks when you click on your profile icon, and you can edit them.
To start new task you should select o4-mini or o3 model
After I created a task, I switched to GPT-4o model.
When I received a notification, I clicked on it, and
As you can see, it displays o4-mini model, because I created task on o4-mini
Thanks so much for explaining this. However, when I tried what you just suggested, this is what happened:
CLICK HERE. This is the best practice prompt using in Tasks:
Schedule a task:
Task Name: Weekly Meat Industry News Report
Schedule Time: Repeat every Saturday at 9:20 PM Eastern Time
Instruction:
Every Saturday at 9:20 PM Eastern Time, search internet blogs and Substack newsletters for recent articles or news related to small meat processors, small livestock producers, regional meat supply chains, or grants supporting meat processing.
Create a report that includes:
- Title of each article
- Author
- Link to the article
- A one-paragraph summary of each article
- 2–4 key bullet points highlighting the main takeaways
If you schedule a task in ChatGPT using the Scheduled Tasks, the task will run at the exact time you schedule it, for example, 3:00 AM, and ChatGPT will reply immediately after it completes the task.
- ChatGPT cannot delay sending a reply until a later time like 6:00 AM.
- There is no built-in way for ChatGPT to “WAIT” after completing a task and deliver it at a different time.
If you want the output closer to 6:00 AM, you would need to schedule the task itself at 6:00 AM.
Thanks so much for explaining this! I especially appreciate the best practice template. It’s so odd - when I clicked tasks, clicked ‘try your own’ and typed that in, it wouldn’t schedule a task AGAIN. It just wrote the report and told me it couldn’t schedule. So frustrating!
