Can't stop task on ChatGPT 4o with scheduled Tasks

No matter how many times or how nicely I ask, I can’t get ChatGPT to stop a task.

When Tasks were introduced I created one similar to the Demo (“look up AAPL stock price every morning”).

Now I get daily updates on this in the app and via email and no matter how many times I try to cancel the task, it won’t cancel.

It’s been a few weeks… I’ve tagged OpenAI and Kevin Weil on X and so far the bug persists.

How do I cancel this task?

Just to want to say I’m also struggling with this! I believe they said originally that it was only changeable in the desktop or Mac version. But as an iOS user, I’m unable to cancel current tasks! Annoying!

I have the same issue. A task that I created in the early release phase of “tasks” keeps sending me notifications but does not show up in the “Tasks” (chatgpt dot com/tasks) page where I can control other tasks. This zombie task causes me to turn off all notifications for gpt.

Please fix this

I should be able to say in the scheduled tasks gpt area

‘Stop all tasks’ and not be thwarted. This is unbelievably annoying. Please for the love of god, you could fix this in 10 minutes.
