ChatGPT Tasks been removed?

Good day everyone,

About two months ago, I noticed the Tasks option was removed from the upper left-hand menu in ChatGPT. Despite that, I was still able to initiate tasks for SMS and push notifications. However, this morning, when I attempted to edit an existing task at https://chatgpt.com/tasks, I was redirected back to the original task chat. From there, I found that I could no longer update or create new tasks.

Now, the AI behaves as though task functionality has been deprecated—it attempts to store reminders in memory instead—but nothing appears in the Tasks page anymore.

I’m wondering if Tasks has been quietly discontinued and the webpage is simply showing legacy data. Has anyone else experienced this or have clarity on whether the feature was officially retired? I relied on it heavily for sending push notifications and found it to be a useful tool.

Same for me. It’s removed from menu but still can be accessed via link. My old tasks work but new one can’t be made

I don’t think Tasks picked up. I thought it was a nice touch then never used it. MCP into Calendar, that’s the future.

What I would love, would be to just casually ask ChatGPT, in an existing conversation, to remind me of something next week. Like, ok, remind me to discuss this further next week. What would work like that?

Yeah, but how could we have the action initiated by ChatGPT and not me?

Same for me. I heavily used it to keep up-to-date with things. For me it looks like it stopped working since GPT-5. I can still create and manage tasks with chat and the settings but it doesn’t deliver anymore. Very sad. That was a really useful function (Plus sub).

Hi, it doesn’t look like it’s removed.
It can be accessed with chatgpt com/schedules

and I could add new tasks by selecting the selecting the legacy 4o model and asking it to create a schedule for me

I was confused as well. It’s not in the menus anymore, except in the Settings, a link to “manage”. Apparently with GPT-5 there’s no menu option to create, you just tell it to create a task.

For example: “Set a task to give me a summary of AI news every morning at 8 AM.” And it works.
