GPT3 Model depreciation question

Hi,

since the announcement of depreciation of the GPT-3 models (ada, curie etc) by January 4, 2024. Does this mean that we cannot use these models to fine-tune anymore but we can still use our already fine-tuned models or does it mean that we can’t use the fine-tuned models as well? Furthermore will the pricing for GPT3.5 and GPT4 fine-tuning will be similar to that of its predecessors or at a higher range?

According to the Open AI announcement, fine tuning will have to be done again, though the announcement did not mention what the pricing would be.

Developers wishing to continue using their fine-tuned models beyond January 4, 2024 will need to fine-tune replacements atop the new base GPT-3 models (ada-002 , babbage-002 , curie-002 , davinci-002 ), or newer models (gpt-3.5-turbo , gpt-4 ).

Once this feature is available later this year, we will give priority access to GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-4 fine-tuning to users who previously fine-tuned older models. We acknowledge that migrating off of models that are fine-tuned on your own data is challenging. We will be providing support to users who previously fine-tuned models to make this transition as smooth as possible.

There’s likely some migration needed, yeah.
