GPT seems to be borrowing Dall-E generation limits from GPT creator and not user when shared with link?

I wanted to explore what a free user sees when using a GPT that I have created with pro, what they have access to, what their limits are etc. I set share to “anyone with link” and logged in incognito mode with a new and separate email (the free account) and used the link to bring up the GPT.

For some reason however, I was able to generate more than 10 images consecutively. The documentation says it should be limited to 3 for free users per day, which made me worried that it may be borrowing from the pro creators limits when shared by link. I googled to no avail, and asked chatgpt and it said it is possible.

I would like to find the answer because I was going to create custom GPTs for friends and share it to them link only, but i don’t want to do this if theres some kind of weird backend issue that could damage my limits. Maybe its just OpenAI handing out free image generation for testing? Thoughts?

Update: I also seem to be able to create many images outside of the GPT with regular chatGPT on the free account so maybe it is that ChatGPT feels generous today…

Update 2: other weird discrepancies… said that when my limit ran out for GPT4 it was switching to 4o, the better model? My only guess at this point is that OpenAI is making moves on the backend regarding whats available to free users after the the announcement of free 03 mini and i just got caught in the middle of it.

When you use a GPT, it uses gpt-4o. The end-user cannot switch.

Tasking the GPT to perform iterations in a free login account, which the GPT is “qualified” to do, it reports the three seen, then an error:

Free image

Well i don’t know what to say because that’s not what happened with me. I generated more than 10 on free both in the GPT and outside of it.
