I use GPT for med school exams. One thing that’s happened as of an hour ago is that old projects conversations are not loading. If I scroll to the bottom of my project it will load the same chats at the top (my most recent ones) in a loop. I deleted the app re installed it, don’t use vpn, have stable connection, refreshed app. Tried everything. First time this has happened
I tried on a different device on the same account but the same issue.
Can someone guide me on this bug?

I am having that problem plus almost all of the chats in my primary work folder are missing. Yesterday I counted more than 150 chats in the folder, but this morning there are exactly 10, and they are only the most recent ones. Then there are 10 duplicates of those 10. That’s it. Everything else is gone!

Earlier this week I had a related issue in that I could not scroll down my project’s list of contents. Also, I was no longer able to see the name of the chat at the top of the chat, like I normally see. However, after about 36 hours, this was restored to normal.

Hopefully this gets fixed and the devs see this! Very frustrating as we accumulate hours of chat log for it to be missing.

Started 2 hours ago. URGENT: Saved Chats Stuck in a Loop – Conversations Duplicating & Not Fully Loading

Hello, is anyone else experiencing this issue?

As of March 14, 2025, at 4:45 AM EDT, all of my saved conversations across multiple projects have started duplicating and failing to fully load. Instead of showing my full conversation history, the system is stuck in a loop, displaying only a small set of recent chats over and over.

What’s happening:

  • My old saved conversations are not loading—just repeating the same recent ones.
  • Every project is affected. It’s not just one chat, it’s ALL of them.
  • Tried on multiple devices, browsers, cleared cache, reinstalled app—nothing fixes it.
  • New messages are still saving, but I can’t access my full history.

Not Just Me:

Request for OpenAI Support:

  • Is this a known bug?
  • Is my data safe and will my full history be restored?
  • Is there a fix in progress or an estimated timeframe?

This is urgent because many of us rely on ChatGPT for long-term projects and critical work. If anyone else is facing this, please reply so OpenAI sees this faster.

I’ve heard more reports from other people now with the same issue

Search seems to be able to find the missing chats - something to try if you recall relevant keywords.
