As the title says - I get 429’d, even though I only sent a single request and there is zero usage in this month, according to the dashboard (which matches my recollection). This is a script that I occasionally run to generate a branch name from a Jira ticket title and it does not hammer the API with many requests - only a single one. I can’t see any logical reason for being rate limited. The account is funded as well. I tried the support chat bubble but it’s completely useless - please help.
Hello and welcome to the forum!
Yes, the support has a ton of requests and you’d have to get through some AI bots first to get to an actual person, sadly.
However, the 429 error does occur when there is either a ratelimit - which for your case isn’t true - or when there arent any funds on the account - which you also mentioned you took care of.
How long ago did you add the credits? It can sometimes take a bit for them to become usable. Do you see them in the dashboard?
Cheers!
Thanks for the answer! There isn’t even an AI bot in the support chat now, just an extremely slow responding menu with singular choices.
This is what I see on the dashboard:
I actually added $10 in an effort to try and resolve the problem ~20 minutes ago, but only later realized that I still had more in the funds due to my extremely low usage. What’s especially weird is that I do not see any activity on the activity tab going back months - checked the org activity and my two existing projects (in case I mixed them up).
Very weird. Does the playground work for you?
Yes, it does. (more characters because it won’t let post… ffs)
I see. So the credits already work as the playground uses your credits.
Next, could you try generating a new API Key and use the new API Key? Make sure to stay on the same organisation/user as the one where the playground worked. A simple chat completion will do as a test.
The screenshot shows all API credits expired. They expire after one year from purchase.
The newest one you just added does not expire until 2026.
It can take a few hours for a shut-off account to be reactivated after a positive-going credit balance is added.
