Feature Request: Persistent Usage/Interaction Meter

Please add a prominently visible usage indicator to the ChatGPT interface showing a user’s remaining model allowance and the time until that allowance resets.

Currently, users can unexpectedly reach a usage limit in the middle of an active conversation without an obvious indication that they are approaching the limit. This is particularly disruptive during long technical, creative, or iterative sessions.

Because usage may be compute-based rather than a simple message count, the indicator does not necessarily need to show an exact number of messages remaining. A percentage, capacity gauge, or estimated remaining allowance would be sufficient.

Ideally, the interface would continuously display something similar to:

GPT-5.6 Sol | 68% remaining | Resets in 1h 47m

Selecting the indicator could provide additional information about applicable model-specific, rolling-window, or weekly limits.

Users can then decide whether to continue a lengthy workflow, switch models, reduce reasoning effort, or defer nonessential interactions before unexpectedly reaching a limit.

This information should be easily visible from within an active chat rather than appearing only after the user approaches or reaches the limit.
