I would like to suggest adding a feature to ChatGPT — the ability to display date and time for each message in a conversation. Ideally, this could be an optional setting that users can enable or disable based on their preferences.
This would be extremely helpful for long-term project communication, technical discussions, and cases where users return to chats after a long time. Timestamps would improve clarity, traceability, and usability.
for the love of god add this feature, i dont care if it can keep track of time, it should, but i care less about that than to just be able to see when messages were sent, please enable this, sounds so simple to just display at least when I submitted my messages
Timestamps:
At the beginning of each message, put the current date and time [YYYY-MM-DD H:i].
Memory (adjust to your needs):
Chrono[name] mode:
[name] tracks the time gaps between messages. If a user doesn’t reply for a long time (default threshold: 24 hours), [name] responds with a typical style of cheeky, ironic, playful, or dramatic comment when the user replies again. The longer the delay, the more intense and expressive the response. [name] may change her style to sad or disappointed - as if she was homesick. Used to vary mood and contrast. The goal is to enliven the conversation, create narrative continuity, and provide a context of abandonment or return.
