Subject: Feature Request – Bulk Delete Option for Chats

Dear OpenAI Team,

I appreciate the amazing work you’ve done with ChatGPT! However, I’d like to suggest a bulk delete option for chat history. Currently, deleting chats one by one is time-consuming, especially for users who have long conversations frequently.

A feature that allows selecting and deleting multiple chats at once would greatly improve user experience and chat management. I hope you consider adding this in future updates.

An option to purge all chats that aren’t stored in projects would be nice too. I’m looking for some way to differentiate chats I want to preserve from ephemeral chats that can be purged.

This is a simple request, create boolean checkbox next to chat, user can do select or select all (filtered) and delete.

Why it takes this long? Original request since April 2025.

Thanks for the suggestion! Delete all is available, but it also includes project chats: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8809935. We’ll pass along your request to select multiple chats while keeping the ones you want. We don’t have a timeline to share, but appreciate the feedback!
