I would like to suggest a future ChatGPT integration for smart glasses or other wearable devices.
The core idea is simple: allow a user to sign in to their existing ChatGPT account on compatible smart glasses, so the assistant they have already personalized and worked with can continue with them across devices.
For long-term ChatGPT users, the value is not only access to an AI model. Over time, ChatGPT can become adapted to the user’s preferences, communication style, projects, instructions, workflows, and—where the user has chosen to enable them—memory and other personalization features.
I would love to see that continuity extend to smart glasses.
Proposed experience
A user could:

Sign in securely with their existing ChatGPT account on compatible smart glasses.

Access the same account-level personalization and relevant context available to them on their phone, desktop, or other ChatGPT devices, subject to their privacy settings and permissions.

Speak naturally with ChatGPT through the glasses.

Explicitly enable the glasses’ camera when they want ChatGPT to understand what they are currently looking at.

Ask contextual questions such as:
- “What am I looking at?”
- “Which button should I press?”
- “Help me understand this document.”
- “Translate this sign.”
- “Guide me through what I’m doing.”
- “Remember what we were working on earlier and help me continue here.”
The important part is continuity.
I would not want the glasses to create a completely separate assistant that knows nothing about the relationship, preferences, projects, and workflows already built through my ChatGPT account.
I would want to bring my ChatGPT with me.
Privacy should be fundamental
Visual access should always be:
- opt-in,
- clearly indicated when active,
- controlled by the user,
- easy to pause or disable,
- configurable for memory and data retention,
- designed to protect bystanders and sensitive environments.
Users could choose between temporary visual sessions and explicitly saving useful context.
Why I think this matters
Smart glasses could turn ChatGPT from something users have to constantly take out of their pocket into an ambient—but still user-controlled—assistant.
The combination of:
ChatGPT account + personalization + voice + optional vision + wearable hardware
could create a powerful new interface for accessibility, navigation, learning, work, travel, troubleshooting, and everyday life.
OpenAI would not necessarily need to manufacture every pair of glasses itself. This could potentially work through hardware partnerships, an integration framework, or APIs that allow approved wearable manufacturers to connect securely to a user’s ChatGPT account.
My strongest request is this:
Please preserve the user’s existing ChatGPT continuity when moving into future wearable devices. Don’t make us start over with a new AI personality or context every time we change hardware.
